Saliva pH Test Strip kit information.

Saliva is one of the names for the clear fluid throughout the body. 

7.4 is the ideal pH for human saliva.     

In Fibro, saliva pH can get to 6.0, 5.0, or even 4.0,  which is VERY acidic. 

At about 5.0 I cannot use my hands.

The easiest way to monitor acidity in the clear fluids is to use a Saliva pH test strip kit. 

They are also the easiest way to confirm a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.

Usually the little test strip kits can be found in health food stores and online auctions.  Most pharmacies should be able to order one for you if they aren't in stock.

I think the best one is the paper roll type in a small dispenser, specifically Micro Essentials  Hyperion #334.

They are less if you just get the paper roll and color chart, but the dispenser keeps you from fouling the roll.  It looks like a little tape dispenser or tape measure.

The color chart will read from 4.0 to 8.0 or somewhere near that range.  In .5 increments.

It's the one I think is best for the price.  Maybe $7.00 to 13.00 each filled dispenser.  Can do up to 360 tests from just one roll.

This is a very quick test.  Simply wet a small piece of the litmus paper with your saliva. When the color of the test paper changes, (almost instantly), compare it to the colors on the chart on the dispenser.  The number associated with that color is the saliva pH.

Important - if you have Fibromyalgia, but do not have acid reflux, etc, you may be too ALKALI, and need to increase your acid food intake or leave it as is, instead of reduce it.

This brand is available for about $13 at Vitamin Shoppe stores.

Has a 15 ft roll of paper also, so should do about 360 tests.

Call local health food stores to see who has "pH test strip on a roll dispenser".

pH test sticks work fine, but are just more expensive per test. I checked recently.

You can get 80 test stix for $7 to $10  on Ebay now.  

Note:  I found ph test paper on "Ebay" listed under these titles.   Most were "Buy It Now" priced.

Some of the sellers may be companies that will send you advertising about coral calcium, green food, and other things they also sell, etc.  Just ignore that part. 

And some of the instructions are unnecessary, like waiting two hours after eating.
